ABOUT ME
Did you ever get asked why you do what you do? Well, I get asked that a lot and let me tell ya, my hobby is my career. If you ask me what my hobby is, we would have to spend hours and hours talking about it.
As a little girl I was exposed to art, sewing, crafting, and this list can go on and on. These elements not only created me as a great designer but also expanded my imagination to unlimited limits.
Growing up each part of my family had something artistic that influenced me to become what I am today:
Sneaking into my brother’s art shop while he worked on his projects was the beginning of my creative mind. As I watched the tip of the brush caress the white canvas to bring color into life, the love for art ignited inside of me. As soon as he stepped out of the art shop, it was my moment to step into an artist’s shoes. I grabbed a brush, I grabbed some paint, I grabbed a canvas, it was my time to create. And even though I got in trouble every single time for ruining a piece of canvas or wasting expensive paint, I left the shop with a big smile on my face. I never regretted ruining my brother’s canvases. It created an artist in me.
Just as art, sewing and crafting developed in me through my family. From pillows to draperies to bedding, my mother’s magic hands inspired me to design a beautiful environment around me. I was responsible for picking out fabric for draperies, creating fabric patterns for pillow cases and designing trim for drapes, pillows, blankets, you name it. My time spent with my mom encouraged me to transform my hobbies into my career. I absolutely love doing what I do today.
